Martino Giaquinto received (cum laudae) his Master Degree in Electronic Engineering in 2014 from University of Naples Federico II (Italy), with a final dissertation dealing with "Lab-on-Fiber Technology for Ultrasound Detection" (Supervisors: Prof.Antonello Cutolo, Ing.Armando Ricciardi).
Since November 2014 Martino Giaquinto is a Ph.D. student in "Information Technologies for Engineering" at the Optoelectronics Group of University of Sannio (Benevento, Italy), headed by Prof. A.Cutolo and Prof. A.Cusano.
His research's interests include the development of multifunctional optical fiber nanoprobes based on Lab-on-Fiber Technology. Essentially his activity consists of optical fiber's tip engineering by exploiting light trapping arising from the integration of plasmonic/photonic nanostructures and functionalized materials onto them, with a particular focus on sensing applications.
During October and November 2015 he worked as research collaborator at CeRICT (Centro Regionale Information Communication Technology) dealing with the development of innovative optoelectronics technologies for railway monitoring.
